Kashmir Dispute & Subjective History of Kashmir

Thousands of Pakistanis rallied over Kashmir once again in Pakistan today on 5th of July the day Pakistan observes as the "Kashmir Solidarity day" a national holiday every year. The media in India choses to ignore it for the most part but out there in Pakistan, young Pakistani Men and Women formed human chains, put up banners and chanted slogans demanding the "Azadi" of Kashmir from Indian rule. Qazi Hussain Ahmed of the Ameer-e-Jammat-e-Islami party in Pakistan came up with the idea of observing a day every year such as this in 1990 and it is since then that Kashmir Solidarity day came in to existence.

SIT Report Trouble for Narrendra Modi? Not Really

Tehelka yesterday leaked the SIT committee's 600 page report which the committee has just submitted to the Supreme Court in a sealed envelope. The report seems to be focused on Indicting Modi of being biased in favor of the Hindu rioters in Gujarat (which Muslims and extremist secularists are already convinced of) and therefore 'implying that Modi could have probably' facilitated riots. The report makes points such as:

  1. Narrendra Modi visited Godhra to which he had to travel 300km on the same day as the tragic incident of burning alive of many Hindus but failed to visit any of the riot affected areas where Muslims had been killed by Hindu rioters..

Why Kashmiri Muslims and Separatists won't condemn LET killings

As India woke up to the shocking incident in Sopore of the killing of two Christian teenage sisters by Lashkar-E-Taiaba Islamic Militants, condemnation poured in from everywhere except the fundamentalist separatists in the Kashmir Valley. Some tried to justify the killings not before faintly saying that 'killing wasn't sort of necessary'. But many were disappointed that by the end of the day, no mass condemnation took place. I was very impressed by Omar Abdullah's statement on the incident when he called a spade a spade and said that if this had been an accidental killing by the Security forces the whole valley in Kashmir would have been up in arms but there's barely muted condemnation this time around. The Timesnow video of Omar Abdullah's Comment on Sopore incident.
